- In the last 3 months (March to May), cargo turnover at Russian seaports declined due to Western sanctions after remaining unaffected from January to May 2022 compared to 2021.
- The January-May figure reached 340.7 million tonnes, which is in accordance with 340.5 million tonnes during the same period of 2021.
- Western sanctions against Moscow affected the Russian economy, including exports of coal, oil, and petroleum products, while the world’s largest container lines discontinued cargo shipments to and from Russia.
