Shipping orders to increase as the Covid-19 situation in Shanghai relieved

- In April and May, the world’s largest container port by throughput capacity, Shanghai suffered a breakdown in the logistics supply chain due to a lockdown caused by the COVID-19 and logistics delays from highway controls in parts of China.
- It was going to take some time for port business in Shanghai to return to normal, but there is a high demand for factories to resume work and their urgent need to export products overseas after the delay.
- The global shipping companies are profiting from the high shipping demand and freight rates because in Q1, CMA CGM's profits grew by 69.9% to $8.87 billion and Maersk's profits reached $9.1 billion.
- Maersk will add 3 new B767-300 freighters to its air cargo service between China and the United States in Q2 to deploy more container vessels.
