Carriers announced blanking programs to bolster rates as peak season diminishes

- 8.8% of capacity is expected to be removed from Asia to Europe market by ocean carriers in the next 12 weeks.
- CMA CGM will blank five sailings in the period surrounding, removing close to 100,000 TEU from Asia to Europe trades, and the French Asia Line (FAL) services 1, 2, 5, 7, and 8 have been withdrawn for the 7-day national holiday running from 1-7 October.
- The 2M Alliance of Maersk and MSC will remove 10% of its capacity on the trade between now and the Chinese holiday, blanking 7 sailings, and THE Alliance removes 18%, blanking 10.
- The failure of a peak season to emerge in the build-up to Golden Week has likely caused the lines to reduce capacity.
