China's first-ever direct container service linking Scotland berthed at Greenock Ocean Terminal
Posted on September 5, 2022 |
- The new east and westbound freight route from Ningbo, China, reached Scotland’s container terminal on 27 August.
- The service is a partnership between KC Liner Agencies, DKT Allseas, and China Xpress, transporting imports including textiles, furniture, and toys for the Scottish market.
- The direct China-Scotland sailings will reduce transit times, compared to feeder services through continental Europe or other southern UK ports.
- Every month, sailings will take place in each direction, calling at Ningbo and the Chinese city of Shenzhen, before docking in Greenock via the container terminal at the Port of Liverpool.
