Export cargo dwelling time soared to 10 days at Felixstowe due to 8 days of inactivity from the strike

  • On August 21, the day the strike began, export shipments waited 5.2 days on average, which grew by 82% to 9.4 days as of August 26, and compared to northern Europe’s biggest ports the wait for export shipments rose by 9%. 
  • Shipping delays will last at least several days as some container vessels rerouted to the other UK or European ports.
