MAWANI to spend $4.6 million on road development at Jeddah Islamic Port

  • The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) and the Emirate of Makkah Province will expand the new Gate 9 at Jeddah Islamic Port.
  • The project will improve the port’s operations with sustainable development standards and customer experience.
  • The SAR 17.5 million ($4.6 million) development project will increase the average truck exit rate from 3,600 to 8,000 vehicles per day.
  • It will shorten the transition time between Jeddah Islamic Port and Al Khumra Warehouse City from 40 to 25 minutes.
  • The route will allow trucks to enter and exit through 4 lanes equipped with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology.
