November saw an increase of 19.3% in the US trade deficit due to sluggish exports and rapid imports

- In the first 11 months of 2021, the U.S. trade deficit increased by 28.6% compared to the same period of 2020.
- In November, the politically sensitive deficit with China in goods grew by 2.9% to $32.3 billion and is up 12.8% for the first 11 months of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020.
- In November, the deficit grew by 19.3% to $80.2 billion compared to the deficit of $67.2 billion in October.
- The imports, goods bought from other countries grew by 4% to $304.4 billion in November but the exports, goods U.S. sends overseas fell by 0.2% to $224.2 billion.
