Posted on July 31, 2023 |
Panama Canal Authority (ACP) will expand limitations on the full depth permitted for ships going via the canal from July 30.
The daily transit capacity will adjust to 32 ocean-going ships.
10 vessels will utilize the neo-Panamax locks and 22 vessels will use the Panamax locks.
During the rainy season, 35-36 vessels normally transit the canal daily, with each crossing using 51 million gallons of water.
May and June saw an average of 32.58 and 32.13 transits each day, respectively.
Neo-Panamax container ships will maintain a depth limit of 13.41 meters.
