Port of Felixstowe to begin an 8-day strike at the end of August as union members reject the latest offer

Posted on August 16, 2022   |

  • The employer Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company failed to enhance its offer, after only a 1.4% increase last year below inflation.
  • On August 8, during the talks, the port improved its position by offering a £500 to a 7% pay raise and the staff branch of Unite and the Police Federation of Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company agreed to put a similar offer but the hourly branch of Unite rejected the port’s offer.
  • At the end of August, the staff at the Port of Felixstowe will begin an 8-day strike in which over 1,900 members of Unite union at Felixstowe will strike from 21 to 29 August over a pay dispute.
  • The union also refused to meet again.
