Port of Valencia's container throughput saw a decline of 6.3% due to fluctuating economic conditions

- In January-May, the port handled a total of 2.2 million TEU which is a decline of 6.31% compared to 2021, but annually, foreign trade containers fell by 0.53%, exceeding 1 million TEU while import containers grew by 15% to over 865,000 TEU.
- The full container loads transit saw a decrease of 9.91% (260,000 fewer containers), due to congestion at the Port of Valencia.
- The war in Ukraine, the global energy crisis, high fuel prices, high energy costs, and the lack of raw materials impacted the economic conditioning at Valenciaport.
