Trump halts broad tariff push for 90 days, but slams China with 125% hike

President Trump paused the planned “reciprocal” tariffs for 90 days, opting for a lower 10% baseline rate instead.

China remains excluded from the pause, with its tariffs jumping from 104% to 125%, citing a “lack of respect” in global markets.

Vietnam, facing a 46% tariff, has offered to drop all duties on U.S. imports as part of potential trade negotiations.

Over 75 countries, including South Korea (25%) and Japan (24%), have reached out to the U.S. to renegotiate trade terms.

The 10% baseline tariff exempts Canada and Mexico for USMCA-compliant goods, including all wood product exports.
