In Q1 2023, timber export prices by 4.1% in Cemac countries between January-March 2023, affected by the log segment.

In the last quarter, log prices grew by 7.3% to $275 per cubic meter while sawn timber prices grew by 3.5% to $582.1 per cubic meter because recently, Cemac public authorities indefinitely postponed the ban on log exports to encourage local processing.

However, suspending log exports will drop export revenues in numerous Cemac countries.
