Norra Timber unveils SEK 100 million upgrade at Hissmofors sawmill

Norra Skog is investing SEK 100 million (US$10.49 million) to upgrade its Hissmofors sawmill in Krokom, Sweden.
The move aligns with the cooperative’s strategy to build modern and efficient industrial operations.
The investment includes new post-sawing line equipment, enabling a 10,000 m³ annual increase in sawn timber production.
Construction begins in summer 2025, with completion expected by fall 2026.
This is the first of two planned modernization phases for the Hissmofors facility.
The second phase is currently in the planning stage and awaits a final decision in fall 2026.
The project is being led by Norra Timber, the industrial branch of Norra Skog.
