Conifex Timber to halt its Mackenzie sawmill for 4 weeks

Posted on May 29, 2023   |

Conifex Timber Inc. will be halting its Mackenzie, BC, sawmill for 4 weeks from June 5th, shutting down 16 million board feet production

Weak lumber products demand and predicted low water levels in the Williston Reservoir, affecting the company's capacity to safely use its reservoir assets have led to this downtime.

The company expects to restart normal lumber production operations in July but will continue to monitor market conditions and modify production plans accordingly.
