EU slaps up to 62.4% duties on Chinese hardwood plywood starting June 11

As of 11 June 2025, the EU has imposed provisional anti-dumping duties of up to 62.4% on Chinese hardwood plywood.
The European Commission announced the decision through the Official Journal of the EU.
These duties will remain in effect for six months while the EU finalizes its investigation and determines permanent measures.
The move addresses longstanding dumping practices and efforts by some Chinese exporters to bypass existing trade rules.
For the first time, the EU will monitor imports of modified plywood products designed to avoid duties.
Products like hardwood plywood with thin softwood outer layers are now under scrutiny for possible misclassification.
New TARIC codes will be created under CN codes 4412 10 00 and 4412 39 00, enabling further investigations under Article 13 of EU anti-dumping rules.
