Lumber prices below 12% as demand weakens
Posted on June 13, 2022 |
- In the last week, lumber prices hit the lowest point, falling over 12% so far in 2022 due to a downshift in the new home market driven by growing inflation and higher interest rates.
- Till last week, lumber prices were down 47% from the start of the year, but are now 65% down from a record high of $1,733 per thousand board feet, which will reduce the pressure on the housing market.
