(NAHB) National Association of Home Builders supports Rep. Westerman’s No Timber from Tyrants Act

• The legislation will ban wood imports of wood products from Russia and Belarus while boosting responsible harvesting of American timber from federal lands.
• Prohibiting imports of Russian and Belarusian wood products will economically isolate Russia and deny President Putin another funding source for his unprovoked attack against Ukraine.
• The legislation will also increase domestic lumber production from federal lands to address the resiliency of national forests, create jobs, reinvigorate the forest industry and improve housing affordability.
