Setra Group AB plans to sell its Malå sawmill in Sweden in 2025 to enhance its operations in central Sweden and secure a steady raw material supply for future growth.

The company will conduct the sales process in the first half of 2025, with Access Partners serving as the advisory coordinator.

Setra recently invested SEK 390 million ($45.9 million) in modernizing the Malå sawmill, following approval in 2021.

The upgrades include a new log intake system, an advanced saw line, an improved trim saw, and a new drying facility to enhance efficiency and product quality.

The investment also focuses on minimizing the sawmill’s environmental impact.

Setra is in the process of implementing the new saw line and expects full operational capacity by 2027.

The sawmill’s annual output will increase from 160,000 m³ to 340,000 m³ once the upgrades are complete.
