China's Ningbo port struggled to clear cargo flows due to the Covid-19 outbreak

- Several Chinese ports are facing congestion due to forced re-schedule calls at Ningbo and the country's 2nd busiest port, Ningbo port is closed due to the latest outbreak of Covid-19.
- 50 container ships were queuing in Ningbo compared to the 28 on 10 August, when the first case of Covid-19 was reported in one of its terminals.
- Maritime transport companies warned their clients of delays and route changes because of the situation as vessels from CMA CGM, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have decided to avoid Ningbo.
- The Chinese economy is downsizing because of the coronavirus restrictions and global supply chains problem, which are growing ship queues, while there is a shortage of container vessels.
