Port of Gothenburg launched a new container storage system to develop logistical solutions

• The ‘Port of Gothenburg RAILPORT container storage initiative’ was launched in September to optimize logistical solutions and ease the movement of import containers from the port to inland terminals.
• The port’s rail network, Railport Scandinavia, now contains over 30 inland terminals all over Sweden and also saw an increase in the proportion of rail transport operations at the port as over 60% of the container goods that pass the quayside, moved through train into or out of the port on the land side.
