World's key shipping routes to disrupt due to climate change dangers

Several of the world’s shipping routes, including the Suez and Panama Canals, are in jeopardy of disruption by climate change.
In coastal areas, the sea level grows high enough to flood infrastructure and intense heat is among the effects of climate change likely to impact waterways that are necessary for global trade.
The Suez Canal Container Port is more vulnerable to physical climate-related threats and may see these double between 2020 and 2100, due to coastal floods.
The three other ports will also be affected, with risks to infrastructure, port operations, and cargo loading.
